     The Buddha was very much against his disciples following him blindly. He always preached them to scrutinize what they had been taught and judge for themselves. This shows the abundant confidence the buddha had in man and his abilities. In short,Buddha's own life was a living example of his dictum.

     He learnt from his own life that every man, if only he has the will and makes the necessary effort,shall attain nirvana. This is what he taught his disciples through dialogue based on reason and logic. This makes the difference between others teaching and the Buddha's.
